Summer Highlights II

I miss strawberries!

Piglet!

After nearly three years apart, my summer sister and I were finally united this July! Her name, obviously, isn't really Piglet, but I nicknamed her that given her tendency to snack and be afraid cling to me in far whenever anything remotely frightening happens. She in turn nicknamed me Oinker, and this summer, Alex finally earned her honorary pig name: Oiglet.

We kicked things off celebrating our friend Tony's birthday at a Greek restaurant. I couldn't help but be reminded of my script, Andromache, and Alex couldn't help but immitate Neoptoleumus -- the script's arrogant bad guy.

Piglet is a cake decorator so she helped us buy all the appropriate decorating gear then demonstrated how to use it:

The end result!

Tony had to go back to the Army base in Texas where he's training lads headed for Iraq before we could bake him a cake, so he told us to take a picture of one for him. He's lucky he didn't eat it... I confused backing soda and baking powder and the silver white cake turned out rather salty!

Alex baked chocolate cookies and I also dipped strawberries and we had a lovely dessert party.

Yum!

Random picture of a chocolate fudge cake with peanut butter frosting that Alex made! So delicious!

We also had a few photo shoots where we pretended to be different types of people... If I'm brave enough those will see the light of day on the blog!

Mackenzie's Momma -- LOL You confused the guys you worked with for coyote butts? A very honest mistake. ;)

Uhm yes actually I did confuse the first crew of boys I worked around with coyote butts frequently, lol. They provided me an opportunity to use a phrase I hadn't had to whip out in 3 seasons(and what you may ask *is* that phrase? "Sexual Harassment charges") Oh yes I got to use that lovely phrase and many more such as "undue hardship" and "emotional suffering" when discussing them with the personnel manager of the company. Was a really fun fun time.

I need to get some of my photos of the summer up(though I didn't take nearly as many this year as I did last year for some reason).
