The new fan film is here! Check out Stargate Atlantis: Wanderers on YouTube:

I'm going to try to create a new section of the Bone Rice Productions site especially for stills.

Enjoy!

"Wanderers" Update

Stargate Atlantis: Wanderers has been filming for the past 3-4 days. It was our first on-location shoot, which proved rather draining in the 90+ F weather of California. Especially when one is shooting in sand which reflects the heat at you from all angles. But we survived! And the final product is on it's way. To tide you (the non-existent people who read this) over, here are some production stills:

(Alex as Teyla and Kellie as Ronon)

(Alex as Dr. Weir)

(On location)

(Alex as Kolya)

(Alex as Teyla and Kellie as Ronon... again)

The fan film will be up soon! Until then, enjoy!

More Are Being Forced to Watch...

Sunset Atlantis is currently featured on Jason Momoa's official website. I don't think the poor sod has ever actually watched one of our fan films so doesn't know what harm is being done through being publicly associated with us. But the thank you goes to Keith, the admin, for his constant support of our insanity! To check it out, click here and scroll to the bottom right of the page under "fun items."

And how is it described on the site?

"It looks like the Rice sisters have taken there Atlantis spoof to a new and twisted level. Enjoy."

At first I didn't know what he meant by "twisted" until I remembered that Ro "dies" at the end. ...Or did he? ;o)

We also have pretty much every Lord of the Rings fan film we've ever made showing in Dragon*Con's Tolkien Film Festival which is really cool! I can't attend the con but am honored. The entered films are:

The Lord of the Freaks: The Fellowship of the Freaks
The Lord of the Freaks: The Two Freaks
(trailer)
The Lord of the Freaks: The Return of the Freak
(trailer)
Lunchtime at Bag End
Behind Rivendell: In Search of the Mental Elves

Any who chance a viewing of the above films will probably leave the event horribly scarred for life...

Also... filming began today on Stargate Atlantis: Wanderers! It was a hot and sweaty shoot in desert-like conditions.

That's all for now. Bye and thanks for your interest even though I know no one's reading this!

Green Screen Contest Results

We may have only gotten third (along with another place between 6th and 10th) but you know what? Fugly Marcy is still the coolest ever. And I still love Atlantis. And beachpartyboi specifically chose to reveal his secret identity to me first which means I'm special and you're not. Even if I did only win a stack of papers with some people's names scribbled on them, they're still cool. If I feel generous enough, I may just compose my own stack of papers, scribble my name on them and send them back to the cast as a gift.

In any case, here is a picture of me posing with my awesome friends. I know you think they're one-dimensional but just shut up. They like tacos.

Me and my friends.

And here's Fugly Marcy's Fantasy

Goodbye.

Crevasse and George Lucas Party

(Drawing by Layne)

I say, with complete confidence, that we are the first people ever in the history of the world to hold a party in celebration of a Crevasse, George Lucas, Peter Jackson (PJ) and Bear Grylls (though we admit that Bear Grylls got kicked out of the lineup towards the end of the festivities). Why would anyone hold such a celebration, you may ask? Why, don't you see the beauty of a crevasse and the hilarity of how the word sounds when spoken by the English voice of a narrator of a documentary about Antarctica? And what's not to love about fat-necked George Lucas, the ever-beautiful Peter Jackson and the... repetitively odd Bear Grylls?

The festivities began with a parade in honor of the distinguished men celebrated. Note the festive attire of the celebrants. Along with the instruments.

The parade was followed by the singing and dancing in welcome of the fatness and Crevasseness.

This was followed by imitations of Eragon and Saphira and meditation on the beauty of a Crevasse.

These were succeeded by a series of competitions which included who could "Uhhhhh" like George Lucas for the longest period of time. Stitch was the judge and this was the scorecard.

Next was one of the highlights - the George Lucas vs. Peter Jackson belly bash to determine who was the best film trilogy director!

In one corner we have the Kiwi PJ!

In the other we have the tater-tot-lovin' George Lucas!

And last but certainly not least, we have none other than Friar Tuck as the referee of the match!

And here are some stills of the battle of the titans!

Curious as to who won this epic battle and took home the title? Find out by clicking on the video below to watch!

After a bit of swimming there was dancing to Russian pop music.

Then, at long last, the Crevasse cake! As is obvious, the cake decorations are Stonehenge with a crowd of people in the center, celebrating the solstice with Stuart Townsend. The round things are dark chocolate covered soy nuts.

The cake was ceremonially stabbed then consumed. Note the crevasse carved into the surface, filled with scrumptious chocolate frosting.

All in all, a very satisfying celebration of Crevasse, George Lucas, and Peter Jackson! Long live the Crevasse!

Below is an image of some of the decorations.

Until the next post - farewell!
